Just Checking in from Alabama. Here's a little about me. I'm 36, married 5 1/2 years and run my own Custom Interior Shop http://www.interiorsbyshannon.com/. I just bought a low and cool 66 Riviera last week. Always wanted my own hot rod and I finaily got it on my own. My father has always had bad rides! he has just under a dozen cool cars http://www.interiorsbyshannon.com/dads_shop.htm. My car is a 1966 Bucik Riviera. I has a 425 Nailhead, A/C, PS, PB, 20's, Flowmasters and air ride on the back. Plan to change small things to the car along the way.
No worries, you gotta have something to do to it! I am always amazed at the lack of detail under the hood of so many hot rods! Take some time and make it right and really enjoy that fine ride! Next show you go to, and you pop that hood....yeah. Great looking ride!
We have a little condo on Lake Martin in Manoy Creek. I plan to be there. I live very close to the sportsplex. If you go to the show look me up. 256-749-7477 cell
Welcome to the board HOTTROD! Early Rivieras are very cool cars from the factory but I have noticed that in the last 5-10 years they have become a staple in the hotrodding side of the hobby,IMHO.The kustomisers are coming out with some nice ones as of late.Keep the Nailhead in there and the Buick Mafia won't be making a trip south any time soon:grin: . I really liked some of the old man's rides. The '37? Chevy with the LS engine is a cruiser and the '58 Impala is my favorite vehicle that I'll never own. Good luck with the car,it's a nice one.
Thanks for the comments. I really enjoy the car. I had the front end lined up this week and have 4 new tires ready to go on the car. Plan to clean up the wheels first.
Hey Eric , He is a about 230 miles , a little north east of Montgomery . Maybe we can get together one day and go see his place .
Very nice looking Riv. I'm not a fan of the big rims but it seems to look alright on your car. Have you done any interior work to this Riv?
I wish I saw this thread a week ago. My family has a place at Lake Martin near Real Island Marina. I would have gone to that show no doubt! Now is not a good time to be at the lake though because there's no water left. If there are anymore shows at the lake please post them on the bench.:beers2:
I've cleaned up my wheels and have the new tires on the car. Also bought a new air filter. Sorry for all the pics! I love pics
Come buy next time you are down. My number is on my website if you need it or forget it. I always have a few cool customers cars in the shop.
If I ever owned a junkyard,I would like to have about 20 of these critters keeping guard.
