I have a 350 in my 66(avatar) and a pair of headers originaly bought for my 305 in my 81. Will my 305 headers fit my 350? What about my 305 valve covers?

Howdy, I think we are talking Chevy and if we are the 305, 307,350 head bolt pattern is the same. Valve covers too.

Appreciate that. Thank ya. What about intake manifolds?

In most cases a SBC is a SBC. If you have non-factory heads or block this might not be true. If the heads are non-Vortec units, any intake should work. Several cheaper aluminum intakes out there that work well.

    Hope this helps - Jim

I'm not sure what all is on it. I just got it not long ago. (my avatar)It's just that it has been bored and everything, but still has a 2bbl carb and factory exhaust.

Since it's already a 2 bbl, my guess is a non-Vortec 350 motor. Check for a date code on the side of the block or a 3 letter code on the engine pad at the alternator side of the motor. I believe the '66 should be using the "Ram's horn" style exaust manifold. These are better than the log style, stock car guys seem to be looking for them alot.

Most any intake will work, keep the carb size under 750cfm. The Holley 650 cfm seems to work well. A good brand name RV towing cam will wake things up in conjunction with intake and headers.

Since this is a Buick board, we need to ask you now to trash the chebby motor and reinstall a Buick, preferably a 425 nail head with 2x4 bbl intake.

The motor that's in it isn't the original. I already have a 4bbl for it out of a 79 Caprice (it is off the motor in my 81). I would change to Buick, but I'm broke. I heard they're a lot more dependable than Chevy. :Do No:

Most all SBC stuff will interchange with your engine. The headers will bolt up no sweat, at least at the engine. Not sure about fitment though. If there is lots of room under both trucks, and I think there is, they should slide right in there.

The valve covers will most likely work. You just need to make sure whether or not they are perimeter bolt or the new center bolt style. I assume they are the older style perimeter bolts. That means the hold down bolts for the valve covers go through the edges of the valve cover. The new style center bolt covers work just as described. There are four bolts that go through the middle of the valve cover right in a row. :beer

They're perimeter bolt. Just gotta remember where I put them.
