    3shields Let's go, MOUNTAINEERS!!!

Looking at having several bumpers replated, both for my GSX and my 70 442. Got a name and number for "Chrome-It" in Marietta Ga. Legitimate website, and claims to have been in business for 30+ years.

Anyone have any experience with them?
Pricing is reasonable compared to most.

30 years. I don't know that's about the time the EPA OSHA ETC ETC cracked down on REAL chroming here in the US.....

Im here in the Seattle area .... Art Brass Plating has been around 100 years plus.... Yes I know there are no employees there that are a 100 yrs old..

The name of their website is www.chromeatlanta.com instead of something like chrome-it.com
Their address is 703 Fairgate Rd SW #203, Marietta, GA

According to StreetView, this is their section of the building.

I think some non-mass production houses are still using Hexavalent Chromium, which is what gives our original shiny parts their shine, but is also what makes that kind of chrome plating so much more expensive than decades ago because of hazards in its use and toxic waste disposal. I think California has already passed legislation to prevent any new use, and phase out Hex even for the aftermarket/custom jobbers in the next few years.

For production automotive fuel connectors we were supplying Ford in the mid 2000's we were already working on the switch to Trivalent Chromium, which unfortunately doesn't have the super mirror finish we were used to with Hex.

Not sure where that's going to leave us in the next few years to come for decorative plating.

Do we have someone in Atlanta that could go by and take a look at their work? I would do it but I am about 4 hours away.

That's also what I think, so: cut out the middle man and try to find out who does the chroming for them.

If I’m not mistaken a buddy of mine asked them about chroming, it’s basically spray on and ca be done in different colors. Again this may not be the company he contacted, I just remember him saying it is in the Atlanta area

Auto Bumper is the only plating game in town that I know of in these parts. I'm too far away to check in Marietta or I'd go by there but my bumpers were done by Auto Bumper and were good. around 2015-16 I think.
