    Hi,

I am replacing my 16 inch arm rests on my 70 GS and I was wondering if they are repopping the chrome piece? I bought some of the black arm rests from an Impala website, am about to paint them and then realized they did not have the chrome trim.

If they are not repopped, any recommendations on how to take off the ones on my 0ld arm rests? Are they just glued on? So maybe some adhesive remover and let it soak overnight?

    Thanks,

    Steve

If you mean the chrome strip if i remember correctly just flip the base over and look for the little tangs that are bent to hold them on.

If you mean the chrome base against the door panel, they repop that.

Chrome bases are held on by clips from the back of the door panel.

I don't believe the stainless trim is reproduced.

As John stated, that trim is held on by tabs which insert through holes in the armrest and are then bent over. The tabs can easily be straightened with a flat blade screwdriver.
