Could you tell us how much the horiontal ribbed trim piece for the 67 trunk lid cost at Custom Metal Finishing. I am looking for a ballpark number as I have several trim pieces I was thinking of having the pits fixed and chromed and then offering them for sale.

    thanks

A good side of all this.. I was looking for a place for some replating and came across this thread. The site is

    http://www.chromeplatingin.com/index.html

I do hope that is the right site haha.

James responded to my email the next morning and I sent him pictures and some details this evening. Hope to have more to report about price soon but so far it has been a great experience. Here is the part I am inquiring about.

Thanks for all the kind words!

I haven't been as active on the Forum as I would like to be. Our 1958 Buick is getting some minor hiccups worked out. Our choke wasn't operating properly.
The rechromed bumpers are installed and looking good (If I don't say so myself )

As was already stated we always give a price before beginning on the pieces. If we come to find some unforseen problems we contact the owner to inform them of the said issues and how they want to proceed. We don't have surprise charges once completed.

Feel free to email us pictures of your parts for estimates.

    Thanks!

"The name or the shop is. " custom chrome" near Green Bay wisc. Forget the actual town."

I had a pal here recommend them as well, then he went to pick up his grill from a '37 Chevy business coupe and it was 1800 smackeroos! It wasn't that bad to begin with but he figgered WTF on a 15K paint job... so he paid it. I called the guy on my 72 front bumper (straight, just bad chrome ) and he quoted me just south of $800... I'll paint the darn thing before I spend that on chrome. BTW... Brillion Wi. is only 25 miles from here... Bill in TR

This part has a fair amount of pitting, after sending the part to CMF and they inspected closer I was given a final price of $350. I didn't even have to worry about taking the faux wood off. I'll be sending anything else I need done to them.
