does anybody know any good sources for older heavy duty Ford truck parts...

    specifically Ford C6000, C7000, C8000 models, 1984-1990

these are the cabover style, like widely used on firetrucks, fuel tankers, asphalt spreaders, and city delivery tractors

I need some rubber/trim/chrome parts for a 1989 model C8000 that the dealer says is now obsolete

reward paid for a NICE chrome grille and chrome front bumper

firetruck salvage parts forums?? resto forums??

I found a pretty nice, one fleet owner, original paint, only 12,400 mile, 3208 CAT turbo powered, Allison automatic, short wheelbase tractor I may buy this weekend, and restore as a multi purpose tow vehicle...

need some help here pretty quick...

    thanx,

    JH

Check with the large trucking comany Roadway Express, they are still using the old C chassis on local deliverys. I'm sure there's no chrome to be had off them, they're pretty plain jane.

I would also ask a Ford(Sterling) truck dealer to do a parts search. There might be some NOS out there.

I did that yesterday.... wiper motor = obsolete, window rubbers = obsolete, tranny mount = obsolete, chrome bumper = $1150 in stock, chrome grille = obsolete, door emblems = $235 each in stock..... I need window rubbers worse than a chrome bumper...

Try a truck salvage yard. The is a big one here call Erickson's in Jackson, MN They have all kinds of strange old stuff.

What are the part numbers you are looking for? Also did they say obsolete and no stock available or just obsolete? They maybe didn't run a locate.
