A lot of auto insurance companys are giving discounts or money back due to people driving less during rhe pandemic.
We have our 1985 Buick Lesabre insured thru Amercian Collectors. the renew notice came a couple days ago. Again same coverage matches all the Libility and such of our normal car insurance, still a 7000 mile driveing limit, catastrophe coverage, and up to 500.00 worth of spare parts cover in case the garage were to burn with spare parts.

Car is also covered in storage from Nov first to April 1st.
Our rate is $28o.00 per year, but that I don't feel is all that bad.

But the Buick is still in storage Every show we attend has been cancled to date, and most we had planed on attending to the last weekend in july is also cancled. So looks as if the Buick will not see a show this year at all.

We asked for a reduction to the insurance cost due to the Buick remaining in storage.
We were told that we could put the buick in perment storage would drop $100.00 off next years cost not this year.
Seems odd to me since it is this year we will have it in storage so seems this years premium should reflect the change?

How are you other guys dealing with the storage issue?

I have Hagerty. My cars are covered all year, whether I drive them or not.

Hagerty here as well, and I drive it as much as I can. Over the last few months of working from home I have actually put more miles on the Skylark than my truck.

I have Hagerty this time. I have tried Grundy--no real complaints, but Hagerty has the Hagerty Driver's Club, which is a WONDERFUL thing. I also have AAA and learned the hard way that their towing coverage is not that good.

With Hagerty, I get whatever I want in towing for the yearly fee--I think it is $60 or $70.oo. When I was fixing the carb, the wheels and tires, the exhaust, and other items that put the car out of commission for a while, Hagerty towed it anywhere I wanted for no additional fees, and I did about 6 or 7 tows during that time.

Now that it is running fine, I don't need the tows (so far), but they are there if I need them for less per year than one tow without coverage. Also, the towing vendors know about classic cars and use extra care, etc. when towing. For a C-2, this is very important!!

AAA is twice as much, but I use it for my daily driver, so...

With the Hagerty, I have agreed value, so as I improve the car, I can add coverage to better reflect the value of the car. I think my premium is about $600/year for $70K valuation, and I drive the car all the time now that it is running great.

I pay State Farm $1300.00/year for my 2007 Corolla, which is worth (to them) less than that, I am sure. Since I have a killer homeowner's policy that I have had for 40+ years (never used it) and it is bundled with the car, I can't really change. I have checked--placed like Geico want $3000+/year for the Corolla, which is driven about 6000 miles/year. My credit is way above 800 and I don't have accidents, tickets, etc., for those who may think that is factored in to my rates.

Of course, it is Florida--home of the worst drivers and most stolen-to-be-exported-illegally cars, and the insurance companies, along with FPL and the sugar companies own FL, so...

And Jim, just like a billionaires' need for MORE MONEY, no matter how many die during this tragedy, to some, IT JUST ISN'T ENOUGH!!!

    Cheers!

I just renewed my Hagerty policy for the GTX, Monte, Chevelle and GTO. $1140 a year. No complaints.

I do not have a complaint on our insurance coverage.

The only complaint is the takeing the reduction in cost from driveing to full coverage to storage on next years policy.
Seems that reduction shoud come in this years renewal.

As for covid 19 if you believe it is a hoxe then keep on keeping on.

But I am a old fat guy with a underlying condition so I my self do not believe in tempting fait. I do not believe it is a hoxe with over 100,000 having died from it and Michigan being rhe Number third hardest hit state.

I really do not have a disire to just take the Buick out to drive around, I like to show it.

They promised me a refund of $56 this year.
I'ld be happier with $100 next year.
