Will Be Appying The Gsx Stripes To My Buick Soon ! I Am Aware That The Semi Gloss Black To Originality Does Not Get Cleared!!
With Todays Climate, Weekly Use For Car Shows, Cruises Etc, Is It More Practical To Add The Clear To Keep The Black Finish Looking Much Brighter & A Cleaner Appearance? Or Will Tdays Semi Gloss Finish Not Cleared Hold Up Real Well? Since My 72 Gs Is Not A Documented Gsx Car --then Whatwould You Experts Recommend To Go With - Semi Gloss Black Not Cleared Or Go With The Clear Finish?

    Here is what I have...

I have clear over my stripes but my hood is non-clear.
Only one person has ever said anything or even noticed
    at any car show.
The only person to notice and comment was PDXMIKE
but then he notices everthing to the finest little detail
and is the Buick Guru out here on the west coast.

I have mine with a clear coat and it is much easier to keep up. But it is more resto rod than clone.

My car has the stripes painted over the main color (painted in 1989, before base clear became real common). Friend has his under the clear. Definitely a different look, but for upkeep putting the clear over is easier for sure.
