Hey is anyone running a Cloyes True Roller Timing Set ?
    My P/N is :9-1144 for the 455 .
I did NOT receive any install instructions with the set :af:

    Can someone enlighten me
(no yah can't have the engine).
The marks on the crank gear are
    1] Circle
    2] Triangle
    3] " Squared" O

    Thanks ,

    Cloyes

Thanks Peter ! Is this common you think with Cloyes ?
They must think we're Kreskin .
How do you think it would be advancing the cam timing for a stock "streeter" , would it be worth it ? No perf. cam , Just Duals, Tuned Carb. , Hotter Ignition.

American products these days seems to generally lack even the basic instructions, maybe to save a buck or two

With a stock cam, install with the square and run 4 degrees advanced, to get more bottom end.
But without degreeing there is no way to tell the true degrees. So if you wanna be safe, install straight up.
Have you driven the car? If happy with it, install straight up. Just replacing the old chain will give you more bottom end. :3gears:

    TimR Nutcase at large

Also, Edelbrock now sells the Cloyes double roller as well, p/n is 7840...can also get the chain seperate. It was cheaper from a speed shop than the local parts place!

    Just some info.

    Cloyes Sets

Hear yah on price Tim . Called NAPA locally , they wanted
$ 120.00 + for a Cloyes Set , & just about the same for a full gasket set for the 455 . :af: :blast:
Had to go with Poston for the prices would have preferred TA but I'm very low on funds these days .
I've decided to not use NAPA unless they're the only source .
I've done alot of buisness with our local store and they got pissed because I call them for prices and end up going somewhere else due to the rediculous prices like above .
$120.00 for a Chain Set that says Coyes on it when Summit has them for $ 70.00 ,,,,,,,,, ; Summit won the battle .
