My BB clutch fork is in great condition except for one problem. The throw out bearing retainer spring has one dog ear that has broken off. Is there anything short of getting a new fork that can be done? I'd hate to have to drop $105 for a Kliener repop if I can repair myself, or have this one repaired.
You can buy a new Vette one (have a new one here) and remove the cold rivit then have the clip you need. Then a new cold rivit will need to be installed.
Mike I took a generic (read Chevy) cheapo replacement clutch fork and ground off the rivet and took the spring off. I then put it on the GS fork and installed a new rivet like Mr. Garrison says. It works great and is an inexpensive fix.
Well, thats good news!! Two questions. The Corvette retainer spring can be bought separately? Mike you want to sell the one you have? Also, Where does one get a cold rivet, and how does one install it? I have only had experience with pop rivets.o No: Thanks!!
The one for a corvette was almost the exact replacement for the BBB but not good enough. You can buy these as the "cheapies" thru Orreillys I will sell mine but you can do alot better than this price (as much as I want to sell it )
