Has anyone ever done this or seen it done successfully?

Currently the stock tank (sumped) just clears the coil overs. I was hoping not to have to go the fuel cell route.

Can I possibly get the tank modified so I have more clearance?

How much clearance to stay safe??

    Any experiences appreciated!

Loosen the tank straps and move the tank as far back as you can. It will usually move about 1/2 in. That should be plenty of room. Check your clearance at ride height...

All else fails, clearance the tank lip with a hammer!!!!
Just carefully bend the lip down.

    John,

I was just wondering what are the advantages of coil overs, what is involved to install them, what is the cost and who did you get them from? Thanks!

    Carl,

One word: Adjustability. Here is a good link although it is more geared for leaf spring cars.

The coil overs are "Strange". The complete ladder bar and coil over set up was in the $800.00 range. I purchased from A.R.T
My installation was performed by a chassis capable friend. The intent of the car is to launch straight, hard, and consistently for bracket duties.

My reason fro going coilovers was more based on choosing to go with a ladder bar set-up. After that desicion, I fell victim to "while we are at it..."

    Mike Bucy.

Could you maybe put this in the proper place (driveline & chassis tech)

..you know...I have spent more money than I'll ever admit because of that pesky "while we're at it" showing up!!
