Having my 70 gs painted withing the next week car and parts are almost ready, issue is he can't mix the color code 45 seamist green as it doesn't come up for the bc/cc system but I'm also wanting something with some shine was looking at a 2007 hyundai green and a 07 suburu green that looks close but metallic or he can match the jam under sill moulding as a solid color out the book, what are your thoughts as I've been bouncing back and forth for a week

If you have the time go to your local 3m Diamont or sikkens paint supplier....they have "color maps" which is layed out by shades of a color vs chips of particular codes very helpful when you know your color but not the shafe
Very easy color to mix tho....med silver toner...some yellow/green..strong green...weak white...and done yellow oxide
2 things I should mention...My car was repainted (not even close to original color) at some time in it's life. The fender was loosely bolted on to give me vision of what I will have. and 2, that's not my 32 Ford...lol
Code 43 iirc ....has a med grain metallic.....looks little cleaner if you substitute the fine imo..but yea it was metallic
What I learned is you find a current color that is close to Seamist- from Toyota, Honda, GM, etc.. have the car painted that color. Touch up paint is readily available and if you ever needed panels painted again, the formula is current...
I’ve had no problem going to my PPG dealer and they spit out colors for me on even the early cars like 58. Also you can go to autocolorlibrary.com and buy anything you want.
Have you used their paint and if so how is it? I'm looking to do a single stage on my Stage 1 - Just a face-lift & not full resto so not looking to spend a fortune on a concours paint job but it'll be stripped to bare metal to start w/. This stuff looks reasonably priced.
I’ve only had experience with their base coats. I used their custom clear on my Titian red skylark a bunch of years ago and it was ok. But the base is mixed 2:1, which means you can’t get quite as much material out of a gallon of paint after it’s reduced.
Thanks Adam. I was thinking (I'm no paint expert!) their Acrylic Enamel would be work well for my goal w/this car & mixes 8:1 w/their hardener & @ $279/gallon is quite reasonable. Either that or Lacquer which is still quite reasonable @ $411/gallon (1:1 mix w/thinner) I've also been considering painting it myself although if @jay bird will do it, I'll probably hand it over to him.
