Did you have one of the loading tools for loading the magazines? Saves the wear & tear on your thumb! But still takes a while.

I did for the MP40. The ww2 mags were a bitch to load. The Thompson 30 rd mags were like butter.

I guess you know what MP40's are going for these days...

    Yes
I sold mine for 5 or 6k which was double what I paid. But, that was also 16 years ago. I never thought they would be going for what they are.
I knew some guys that were buying MG42’s like candy in 2000. I think they paid low 2o’s for 3 or 4 of them.

Yeah, I looked at an MP40 5-6 years ago and they were asking 30k...

Did she fall backwards with that posture. Very awkward looking. Is that why she is your ex? My wife wants nothing to do with shooting although I have suggested it many times.

She was getting pushed and the barrel was going up from the full auto. She had never shot before so it was awkward. It’s difficult to teach someone that’s never shot before.
The most important thing is safety. We did a lot of practice before I let her rip out a full mag.
She’s an ex because things just didn’t work out. She was a nice person but **** happens.

I've taught/helped a large number of novice shooters. For whatever reason, females especially have a tendency to lean back while shooting shouldered weapons (and hand guns to a slightly lesser degree). It seems it's often times a mixture of intimidation and lesser upper body strength. Always having to tell them to lean forward. I'd bet it's more than 2/3's of the new lady shooters I've helped out have had that issue. Some males do it too, but it's more prevalent in females for whatever reason.

I notice women alone at the range with handguns leaning back like you mentioned. At least they are getting out there.

Absolutely! When I worked part time at a gun shop/ range, it was always nice to see the ladies come in to shoot. They're often much more receptive to input on technique too. But leaning back and crossing thumbs are very common.

We are under attack again. They always go after the law abiding guys because we are easy targets.

My point in posting was in reference to CCW being illegal in some states even though I have a legal CCW permit here in Ohio!
So if I travel through NY state and get stopped for whatever reason ? I can be charged with a felony for having a gun in that state in my car or on my person.
Essentially depriving my 2nd amendment rights.

    Thats it Topcat :)

Legally you can drive through any state if gun is locked. Just don’t stop in the bad states like NY. They will arrest you and make you prove it. They violate their own citizens constitutional rights they certainly don’t care about anyone else’s.

Only problem is the average 25 year old crew cut in the cruiser sees your gun and gun is bad and you going to jail for the night. The next day they say oh me so sorry and you just spent a night in a bedbug infested cell with who knows what manner of humanity.

That’s why you don’t let him see it, and if he asks you to ‘step out of the vehicle/open the trunk/etc’ you very politely decline. Make him get a warrant.

Then you have five cruisers arrive to give you the pressure treatment.
