Just to let you all know my '70 Stage 1 took a Star Winner at this years Concours de Elegance at Lehigh University. This event took place on Sunday,June 19th and was run by the Burn Prevention Foundation and Lehigh University. The grounds of the university are spectacular and the cars that were represented on the show field were top notch.

Anyone who has never attended this event is really missing out at a great event. Very well run show. The total amount of participants was in the vicinity of 250 cars starting from the "Brass Era" of the automobile to 1970 musclecars.

I tell you, what a rush to be selected a winner and then drive to the podium to receive the award!!! Very cool! :TU:

How does the scoring work? As in, a star award is what level of recognition?

Carl What Won The Class? I Can Not Find Resaults On The Web Site.
The Local Tv Station Has Broadcast The Whole Event In The Past, Maybe Someone From The Area Can Let Us Know When It Will Be Aired.

Paul, I know both of the cars in my class(my GS Stage 1 and a Dodge Challenger T/A) won a Star Winner award(out of roughly 20 cars) and the car that took the overall award for the class had a Chrysler 300H.

I am sure someone has the results that was from that show.

It would be very neat if there was a broadcast of the show and if there was a copy of it,I would like to buy and get a copy.

Good to see you and your car there, Congrats again Carl! I have a great picture of Carl sitting behind his car, that I tried to post here, was taken too big digitally to post here. He's minus the "shiek" look, but was grinin' and smiling while talking on his cell phone in the picture! I'll be sending some pics to you Carl.

There was supposed to be 150 cars there, but a few (including that elusive Royal Bobcat) were missing. It's a nominated car show, and they are "judged" I would say merely as a "beauty pageant". No Duane's here checking codes, etc!! One of the Chrysler 300 number cars won "High Performance" class this year, as Carl said, and Carl's car won a "Bethlehem Star Award, which is presented to the 2 best cars in each "circle". Circles are groups (I believe by years) among the class.

Buicks have done exceptionally well at this show in the past, Chris Jones' 1970 GSX, Paul & Lynn's 1970 convertible, My 1971 convertible and now Carl's 1970 have all taken awards at this show in year's past.

The local TV station, Service Electric did film the show again this year, I have not found a schedule for viewing yet, although in flipping through channels on Sunday night, it came on @10pm, for 1 hour only, and only with the "main awards" presentation. I will continue to pursue a schedule or if there is an entire tape available of their filming of the show.

    Take care,

    Mike Aumann
