I'm preparing to disassemble my used console in order to repaint it Black and send out the chrome surround as it has some pits. The front bin lid opens some of the time, but randomly and it sits above the surface of the rest of the console. Not to be picky about it, but I won't enjoy driving the car with this wonked. Will there be an obvious adjustment or missing rubber buffers somewhere when it's apart? See Pics...
Secondly, What's the correct color for the lids. They look Black with chrome coming thru . Should they be Satin Black or Hot rod black ? (both are midway between flat and gloss) Some other color?
Nice surprise! It's prewired for my tach complete with bulb holder!

Did it once say " LITTER BIN" in the small compartment? Is Vanna White in the building?

Satin should be correct. Use a lacquer based product like Krylon. Don’t use anything marked enamel which is not comparable with plastic. Black is easy. No worries about matching.

Also if that console is hard plastic like most you don’t even need a primer or adhesion promoter. Don’t waste your time or money. Just clean well and paint it in the shade.

Thanks, Dave. I purchased this stuff...

It doesn't mention if it's Lacquer, But it's Krylon and specifically for plastic. Have to hold off for now, humidity is way too high and I don't want to haze the paint.

Wildcat, that Fusion stuff works great. And yes good idea waiting for dry weather. Humidity is a disaster for painting. Been brutal here too.
