convert skylark donor body parts from hardtop?

    alec296 i need another buick

    my question is if i have a convertable body thats shot can i use a rear clip
    from a hardtop ad a donor for most parts that would be rusted?
    this would be a skylark body

    Andy, yes you can use a hardtop but the problem using it is the top of the inner and outer wheel house's are different on the convertable. I have done this one a 67 conv. and used a 4 door rear clip. A two door hardtop would have been better. Best to use the top of the conv wheel house's and butt splice them into the hardtop ones.     See our site for the 70 GS455 conv I am restoring now.
    You can buy all the floor pans new.

    Use the outer 2-4" from the coupe outer wheelhouse to repair your convertible versions. 99% of time the outer lip area, 2-4", rusts away. So, you can use the coupe section to fix them.
