Is it possible to take a 71 skylark convertible to a hardtop? If so, how hard is it to do? thanks guys! G. Sweeney
I think the rear quarters are slightly different and you might have a lot of fabrication to do to get things to line up right.
Agreed. You would need complete roof section, quarters are different, entire interior and structure (rear seat support, package shelf structure, etc) is diferent, trunk lid hinges are different, etc. You would spend more putting it together than you would to go buy an average hardtop. later Tim
Mr. Sweeney! Why would you ever want to do such a sacreligious thing? :spank: :ball: :error: :Smarty: :blast: ou:  My stars! Frank P.S. Jus' kiddin!
hahaha well its only because I want to restore the same kind of car my grandfather had and his was a hardtop....to have a convertible wouldn't be the same exact car... otherwise I'd love a convertible and it seems like its easier to find a convertible to buy than a hardtop :TU:
You can probably find a hardtop pretty easy. Try eBay or Classic Car Trader Online for starters... Frank :beer
its possable but DAMN THATS ALOT OF WORK!!!!! DONT DO IT! :Smarty: I would rather help you find a hardtop!!!!!!!!
