Assuming? this is 70 - 72 A body, the R inner skirt, if removed will give you additional clearance. The heater core should come out with the inner suitcase from under the dash. American Graffiti and others make the A/C block off cover.

If it is a '68-'69, I believe I have the parts you need, as far as the box and the heater core (about 2 years old). Don't have the controls (well, maybe, but they were pretty worn when I took them out and put the AC in it), but you should be able to adapt the ones you have.

Its a 1971 Buick Skylark, Not worried about Controls just the heater core and that big box under hood and correct me if wrong but to remove heater core it comes out from inside car rite. And someone told me if the box under hood is removed and i get a small box that i would have to make a panel to help cover that hole up on firewall because the new box aint big enough to cover the hole on firewall.

I have a 69 Firebird that has a AC delete cover where the under hood suitcase should be. I plan to put the AC back in this car so I wont need the delete cover. It's probably the same as what you would use in an A body. You can have it for $50.

If you get the American Graffitti cover you won;t need to change anything else. All the other functions on the car will work except for no-air. I'm not sure about engine removal, but, you may need to remove to get the new box properly fitted

    That looks like a 64 -67 cover.

    I used a cover from here: http://www.acdelete.com/pages/68-72_A-Body.htm

When I did mine I was doing a frame-off so the inners/fenders weren't on the car, but the engine and body was installed on the chassis and it wasn't a problem. Pulling everything from under the dash wasn't the most fun, but not the worst job I've done either. I would say at the least you're going to need to pull the passenger side inner to make it more doable, but that's not the end of the world either. Engine can stay put if you do that.

I dont care now about everything being pulled from under Dash, I just want to change that cover under hood to make some extra room.

So, what are you waiting for. The cover above look just like the one on my Firebird.

I converted my ac to non ac with the box from American graffiti not difficult at all didn't pull the inner fender. use windshield sealer rope to seal unit to firewall. this was I 2001 and It still looks good. if you do pull inner fender do replace blower motor.Ken
