Pete just called to let me know that he's feeling much better and resting at home after undergoing heart surgery this past weekend. As most of you already knew, Pete was stricken with a rare virus that attacked his heart a few years ago. He was able to slowly strengthen his heart but suffered a few setbacks recently as the lower portion of his heart would "misfire" and cause congestive heart failure. Heart specialists at the local hospital decided it was time to put him on the dyno last week for a series of tests. They decided that a new pacemaker/defibullator/ignition box be installed and wired to his heart to ensure proper firing even at higher rpm levels.
After holding my breath for the last week and a half, it was a big sigh of relief to hear his voice and know that he was at home resting and feeling much better.
Wonder if he can use it as some sort of delay box??? How do we tech for something like that?

Glad to hear Pete's okay. Sounds like he traded the old T.I. ignition box for a new MSD.

Ya know those new fangled ignition boxes aren't exactly legal however if he had one of those stand alone rev limiters installed he might get past tech.

Pete, May you be blessed with a speedy recovery.

Good luck Pete. Hope you have a speedy recovery. If his new "ignition box" makes him go faster then everybody is going to want one. Now we're going to have to have a doctor in the tech group....will it never end :Brow:

I am glad he has finally gone high tech, I was getting tired of giving him a jump start in the pits all the time

Hopefully they gave that pace maker the 'deep cycle' battery as I am sure that once he is on his feet, he will test it out!!!!

Welcome to the club Pete. In six months you will feel so good you'll be saying you wish you could have had this done years ago. All I can say is that modern medicine can do amazing things. Lots of people yearn for the old days, but if this was the good old days, I'd be dead six years already.

Glad to hear that you're on the road to recovery. :TU:
