I have these two choke thermostats that look the same but stamped with two different part numbers. So, what engines are they right for? I’m looking for one that’s correct for an early (Sept ‘69) 70 455 .

    Ray, I believe the 261 is for a 70 455 automatic. 269 would be for a 70 GS 455 with a 4-speed almost impossible to fine. 253 May be early 455 but probably for 69GS 400.

The 261 for a '70 455 automatic makes senses as that one was on my early '71 motor. But, the other is a 353 not a 253

    353 it’s probably for a 69 or 68GS 400 or 430
