What is the correct finish for the rear license plate bracket for 1968 ? Just wire wheeled it pretty clean looking through pictures I see some painted black- both gloss & satin. My other question is the license plate light fixture . Cleaned it up with the dremel looks like new is it black or clear ? Thanks guys

I soaked mine in evaporust product and it turned out pretty good. It is like a zinc finish, no paint on mine.
If I did paint - Eastwood zinc would be my choice.

I sand blasted mine and cleared it. It came out perfect. (use fine media you want a smooth finish) The natural metal color itself is just right. (in my opinion)
