I can't seem to find proper fitting flat-head screws that secure the shifter handle pull-up bar to the handle sliders. Anyone know if they're actually reproduced? Don't know why they couldn't have been supplied along with the repro pull-up bar - didn't think it would be a problem finding some at Depot or Lowes but no luck to date.

    thanks

Unfortunately, the screws say "NL" in the parts manual which means no listing. So no GM part number. They do however list the size as 8x18 and 1/2' long

many thanks for the research - I'll take my release bar back to Depot in the a.m. to try again with the info you provided.

See if they have a #8 self tapping screw that's a 1/2" long with a countersunk head

Tried the #8's - heads don't sink in quite enough to avoid binding inside the slider arms and the pull up bar can't move.

think I'm going to need an oem shifter assembly (at least the upper assembly) - this repro stuff seems off in general - thanks for the assist though!

I had the same problem trying to find screws for the handle. I have an OEM shifter that was missing the screws. I was not able to find anything that fit. I kept looking for a #8 screw with 18 threads and there is no such thing. I just did another Google search and came up with an 8-18 stainless screw. It has been a long time since I pulled apart a complete OEM shifter handle but if I remember correctly the head was smaller in diameter that a standard flat head screw. My memory is that the screw was shaped like the screws used to hold a cooling fan in a PC. I have some of those that are close but I need to keep looking.

    Good Luck.

These are a # 8 Screw (Self Tapping type) but they utilize a # 6 head.

I do have some in stock that will work and look similar........

I also stock the Clip used to hold the shift cable in place........

I just found some of them screws after much research. What I found interesting in my research is that the holes and countersink match almost exactly a #7 screw. Oh well, I am ready to replace the screws in about 40 more cars!

Where did you find the pull-up bar? I found the top piece but not the pull-up bar...

    Nevermind, found it at TPP...
