Have a good friend that has decided to sell his Corvette. Its a Daytona Yellow 1970. Paint is not perfect but very nice. 350-300 Auto, Very nice Driver, frame is good. I dont follow corvette prices too close hes looking for 13,000 for the car. Seems like a good price for a nice running/driving car.

Contact is Jim 734-663-4886 car is located in Northfield Twp MI

    Thanks Paul Petco

    Paul,

Would your friend have any interest in a long, low and loud custom chopper? Do you have any other information on the car? How are the frame and birdcage?

Yvonne would only want it if she could show that other Yellow car of Little Miss Sunshine the tail lights :)

It's funny that you titled this thread as you did Paul. I stopped and looked at this car last fall with visions of making it a Pure Stocker when your friend had it sitting out along North Territorial Rd..

Don't remember too many details but it seemed pretty clean and was low option I believe (no A/C, crank windows, etc.), perfect for a racer. Biggest downside would be the need to convert it to a 4-speed if going the LT-1 route or dropping in an LS-5 if keeping the TH400. Otherwise, you're running the 330hp (gross) base engine that's in it.

I liked it and would have gone the LT-1/M-22/4:56 route if it made sense (money, time, space) to take on another project. That combo in a '70 Vette still holds the small block PSMCDR ET record, doesn't it?

    Good luck with the sale.

Hey Randy, Jim the friend that owns the Vette has a chopper hes selling also. Hes in his mid 60's and his health is not real good. The vette frame is nice, sorry I dont know more about Corvettes not really sure what the birdcage is?
The Corvette is going to Mecum in Indy in May it hasnt been consigned yet so thought I would post it up for him and it really is a nice car for a reasonable price. If you need more pics I can do.

Hi Jeff, thats the one that was on Territorial, that was my thought a LT1 car, thats just a wicked small block and sitting in a vette, thats hard to beat. That car is a low option car.

    Thanks Paul

You could make it an LS5 car, 390hp auto with close to 12 to 1 with the 1.5 increase over stock allowed. The 70's are lighter than the 71 and later, as they changed the Fiberglas method in 71. I bet it would run in the mid 12's if properly tuned.

Paul, the birdcage is the windshield frame and. Is prone to rust along with the rear frame rails. I would be willing to go with somebody to look at it if somebody has an interest in it.
