This is why I am going to sell my 79 Turbo, I bought this and just have to keep it.
1964 4 speed, solid lifter, Holly carb, posi, bought new Dec. 63 in L.A. Calif. I have pictures with it's owner then. Both tops, I like it more than I thought I would.

LoL...lord no, I'd buy a create motor for it....small block from GM....the motors in the 80-82 cars just sucked!!...I believe in keeping the the right make engine with the same make car.

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Buick blood runs thin when it comes to thim.... I'd lose a Buick for that. I've had two Vettes and loved them.

    selling

Well, I have had the Skylark for four years, I can't sell it, the Turbo, as much as I like it, is the one to go. I was just fine with the Turbo and Skylark but now is the time to cut something. I can't keep everything like some of you guys.

I forgot to mention this, my wife just pointed it out, I told her I got this Corvette for her, I got it six months ago but she hasn't driven it yet. But I got it for her.

Mid years are outstanding cars, the downside is that people are generally afraid to drive them. Worse yet park them out in the general public. People notice them a block away. I've had both a 65 and a 66 coupe.

Also did the 80. Before I'd go and replace the motor, for the money I'd look for an early 90s ZR1. They're fast, handle great, and you're more likely to get the money back out. I've seen nice ones in the mid $20s. That's about what the engine cost by itself when new.

Start changing drive trains around in the Vettes and the resale price goes way down.

One very nice original Vette ! :Brow: But i did notice you may want to pickup the red rubber boot to go over the backside alternator wire .

Don't ya just hate a guy who looks for those little things ....

    Enjoy your Vette !:bglasses: :TU:

I mean hey, if I had my choice a 64-72 would be killer, best of both worlds, great looks and power to go with it, but I really like the looks of the 80-82 because of the flatter rear cover and more angled front cover but the engines in them are just sad...I can't see how a GM create engine would do anything but help the car, I know with vettes you don't change them but if found 2 nice, clean 82's and one had 300 horse GM engine in it, thats the one I'd pick, the "Crossfire" engine could stay sittin! I don't care for any of the C4 cars, the latter ones are okay but just not my choice.
