I have been getting quotes of around 1K to run black stripes down my white hood, trunk deck and spoiler. Is that a fair price?

Thats a good starting price. Im doing a chevelle right now and I quoted $1500-$2000 to add them and burry them in the clear. The amount of time it takes will determine my final price. Dave

Thanks Dave, Unfortunately as I am not doing my whole car the stripes will be on top of the existing paint (which I was told is in good shape) after it is wet sanded but with a clear coat over them. That said I'm sure I will feel the edges! If anyone has photos of a white Skylark with GSX or any other striping please post for me to see. I would like to get this right the first time!

Here's what I've been thinking, black GM rally stripes with perimeter stripes on the hood and trunk deck (approximately 12" wide covering the scoops and hood vents), spoiler painted solid black. I have never seen this particular combo.

Like chevelle rally stripes? I really hate those even rangers get those in the mtns.

I'm not a fan of chevelle striping in our buicks either. But if you did the gsx treatment on the hood and mirrored it on the trunk but maybe a bit more squared off so it's like an "end" instead if a point... That could be cool and unique and more Buick. The black spoiler could be nice too.

Dont they make a kit out of 3M vinyl these days? At least that way if you got tired of them, you could peel them off. A lot cheaper too.

The regular GSX stripes on the hood are too much (wide) for me and I want to keep my side body pin striping. Maybe I could do the GSX type paint scheme just on the spoiler top in conjunction with the stripes on the trunk deck instead of doing the spoiler in all black. I've gone through a roll of painters tape playing with different schemes all week keeping in mind I dont want the GSX clone look. I even considered doing just a .5 outline (like pin striping, but heavy) in black vs. solid stripes in the same pattern on the hood and trunk deck.

Check out my garage. I did a GSX/YANCO inspired hood and side incarnation.
