I am just starting to collect stuff to do my interior and could use some pics. to help me out. I have a 68 GS and it has a bench seat interior that is light blue. Are there more than one style of seats with the bench ( standard , deluxe, etc...?)or just one? Also, is the back seat the same weather the car has a bench or buckets, or are they different?
I bought a set of 68 buckets and I am going to recover them but don't know if I will have to recover the back to match or if it will be ok how it is?
I am also looking for a console and floor shifter for an auto trans as well if anyone might know where I could find one that would really help!!!!!
any way if any one has any pics. of their 68 interiors bench, buckets, whatever I would love to see them, as specially some blue ones as they seem hard to find!!!!

    Thanks Chris

    Chris,
The pictures represent the correct covers for a 68 bucket seat GS or Custom. The door panels in the picture are also GS (deluxe). The standard panels are different. Both covers/panels are available at http://www.legendaryautointeriors.com Click on the link and order a catalog from them. Rear seats are the same size unless it is a convertible. The interior color in the pictures is trim code 171 (medium teal poly) I believe referred to as blue in the legendary catalog.

A standard interior bench will have no fold down center armrest. Deluxe interior bench will have an arm rest. Standard interior has door panels with some strange embossed pattern (big squares or something like that--haven't seen too many) Deluxe interior door panels have many thin chrome strips running front to back within a rounded-off square stainless steel trim. Patrick's pics are Deluxe interior.

So--- if you have a standard interior there are no covers for the buckets that match. If you have a Deluxe interior the buckets will look just right---between deluxe bench and deluxe buckets the front seats themselves are the only thing that changes; door panels, back seat, etc are all the same.

By the way, I used to have a 68 GS convert, light blue metalic, white top, with blue bucket interior. Man, I loved that color conbination.
No pics, though. Interior was trashed...

My interior is a standard not a deluxe, I am ok with recovering both seats and getting new door and rear pannels but my seats look more blue than teal. Maybe it's just the lightng but the seats in the pick kind of blue green (teal I guess ) what color is your headliner. Also do the chrome strips come with the door pannels or do I have to get those seperatly?
Also are the arm rests different?

thanks for the pictures guys!!!!!! that really does help.
Mine is deffinatly a standard interior. Am I right in saying that the factory didn't offer a standard interior with buckets. Or does the aftermarket just not reproduce the covers for them?

If not, I know Legendary does custom work for a fee. they did my Sport Fury interior in black/white two tone even though the factory never offered it that way. Maybe I can get them to make me a set of standard int blue bucket seat covers, that would be cool ( different )!!!!!!

Hey Nick, does that interior look familiar?

I don't know what it might have looked like 35 years ago, but it does look a little blue-green in real life. Maybe the seats have faded some with exposure to the sun. The headliner is a light shade of blue.

    Chris,

Post your interior code from your cowl tag here and somebody should be able to tell you exactly what color you started with. I would venture a guess that you will have to replace everything to get a good match, given the age of the interior. Legendary makes an excellent interior kit, I think they sell it direct and you can also get it from Thepartsplaceinc or OPGI.

That is correct. There were no bucket seats available with the standard interior.

The repro deluxe door panels do have the thin chrome strips, but DO NOT have the big loop of stainless steel trim that goes around them. That is not reporduced; will have to source used.

I checked and the trim code on my cowl tag is 111 the interior is light blue. Everything is going to be replaced any way I guess, The door pannelsneed replaced and the back seat, although not torn, is kind of crispy on top. the carpet needs replaced and I am going to put buckets in the front so that about covers everything , Oh the dash pad is really nice! So what does this 111 stand for?

CJP good to hear from you again. You don't happen to know where I can get a 68 grill do you?

Chris, I don't know of any 68 Grill's off hand, but if I see one for sale I will let you know.

111 is a light blue vinyl bench (without notch) seat. The Year one code would be M12.

It is a decent catalog, pretty big, but I don't remember having to pay $7.50 for it. Check www.thepartsplaceinc.com as well, I think they have a free catalog, and the prices are usually cheaper. Also check www.opgi.com, I think they are free as well.

I just recycled my last Year One catalog or I would send you that one. Maybe someone else has one that is a year or so old they could give you. The prices don't change much.
