ok everyone i'm kind of new here so cut me some slack if this topic has already been addressed.

i have a 74 Apollo with a 350. the engine has about 92000 miles and recently developed a lifter tap. i don't really have the knowledge to rebuild the motor myself, so I was looking into a crate engine for the car.

is there any company out there that sells a pretty much turn-key 350 Buick motor for my 74 Apollo??? :Do No: i want something that will drop in with NO fabrication required...i'll be changing the trans and rear as well.

There was someone on this BB selling an NOS shortblock recently.

Perhaps it would suit your needs.

Use the search function if you are interested.

Maybe it's not that serious...92,000 miles isn't that much really. That's like getting a new wife because your old one has an ingrown toenail. Seriously, maybe you should do a little investigative work...maybe a set of lifters will do. That would certainly save $$$. Just a thought..

hey adam. do you have any experience with these companies? iv thought about getting a 455 from another place like this but i was kind of worried about what would come. seems if its everything that it says, more people would be buying em. iv always leaned toward getting one. i think i just need some people to talking me into it.

I suggest that you go for the crate motor from a reputable company, and put that in. Then you still have the low mileage original motor to fix up. Look for a good mechanic and either get it rebuilt to stock or hot rod it, it couldn't hurt to have two good motors. I do think that you should find a good mechanic and get his opinion first, it probly is'nt fatal. Good luck.

Pete, I personally haven't had experience with these people. I would give them a call and ask for references before I thought about buying from them.
