Hello, Has anyone out there modified there stock frame to make it easy to remove oil pan with motor in the car? If so how did you go about it? Is it possible to make some kind of removable tubing crossmember? Or would it be better to just section the stock crossmember and step the top part down in the pan area to give more room to get it out with lifting the motor some. :3gears: :Comp: Tom
Anythings possible. Seems like a lot of work and $$$$ just to be able to drop the oil pan easier. The way we did this on race cars is with the frame in a jig to make sure everything stayed square. Not something I would want to hack out with a sawzall and try and weld back together.
Dr. Chilenski has performed this surgery to his car. I was contemplating it for my car but came to my senses since it is a real GS455. Gotta be nice to drop the pan easily! Bruce
Like to see pics. Any pics of this mod ? I would like to see it. I just pulled mine and had the moter jacked, pulled the trany, flex plate. Headers came out to. Berly scraped the oil pan checking the trans brake at morraco.
