hey guys...i had my car on the lift today and noticed that my drivshaft yoke at the tranny is scrapping my floorboard!.....and the guy who installed my flows said that if i take the rubber bushings off my crossmember and at the tranny-crossmember bushings it would stop the scrapping and be better overall....is this right?....and how hard is this to do because i dont want to drop my tranny for this

    thanks

ps...is this a problem to be solved before i hit the road for cruising?

Something is wrong, not your x-mbr. The yoke should not even be close to your floor board. You need a closer inspection.

Has the car been modified from stock? If so what has been done to the engine trans or drivetrain ?

well i had high lift coils put on and that caused a slight slight angle on the yoke at the diff.....slight v........ever since then i have been having problems...but i had air shocks before to lift it and it never cause a problem...the trans has just a stage 2 shift kit with 3000stall.....i have now carvings in my floorboard now...the rubbing has now stopped but i still dont know what to do...and as of right now i cant remove the coils because i have no others to replace with....u think if i removed the rubber bushings...it would help a lil?

    Guys,
I don't know if this is the case, but the same thing happened on my friend's 70 SS Chevelle 4-speed. The hump had been cut out and modified so many times that the floor pan had bowed down from years of the driver's and passenger's weight above it. (The bucket seats were actually bowed towards each other.)
I had to brace up the floor pan, then weld the hump back in. That solved the problem.

This same thing can happen if guys install bucket seats without putting the extra braces in.

Or if the body mounts at the door openings go bad and fall into the body. (This could be the case.)
    Good luck.
