We Just Installed A Box Of Parts Purchased On Ebay Ha Ha For Cruise Control For My 1970 Electra Convertible. Everything Went In Fine And Works Fine Except When You Apply The Cruise Button The Car Accelerates Like Your Getting On The Highway Instead Of Holding Speed. Is This A Bad Module Or Other Part Or Adjustment And Is There A Fix. Really Appreciate Any Help As We Spent A Long Time Putting This Together. Marty
'71 Chassis Manual has a couple trouble shooting charts. Start it in park & engage the cruise button. Does the light come on? Do you hear the transducer engage? Normal reaction will have the engine accelerate. Looks to be a complicated system but I've not worked on them before. Get a '70 Chassis Manual or have someone send you copies of those pages. Don't want to lead you astray if '71 wiring colours are not the same.
