Yesterday my Wife and I joined some friends on their Yacht for a trip from our home port, Northport Harbor, west along the Long Island sound passing what is called The Gold Coast, down the east river under all the bridges to the Statue of Liberty....and back. SportWagon66 posted he and family are coming to NY and was a bit worried about CODE ORANGE - rest assured.....life goes on in the City that Never Sleeps .....Thought I'd share some Pics of the trip. If anyone is coming to The Big Apple, I highly recoomend one of the water tours around Manhatten as the views are spectacular. First, some of the "Houses" that give the North Shore of L.I. its name of The Gold Coast Wonder if that is his Garage on the left ?? Not bad.....up on the Hill I'll take the Boat house....forget the rest !! This one just defies words.....and makes me keep playing Lotto Out on the water we met some of the boys....and their toys We knew we were getting close when we approached LaGuardia airport TufBuick lives around there and I think I could see his house from the water.....Hey Ron, would you get some Screens for the Windows ?? ou: Then past George's Favorite PhotoSpot for his MeanMachine '67....Hell's Gate Bridge Down...Down the East River past the United Nations to the Brooklyn Bridge where you can even get a NY Taxi on the water !!! Down past SouthStreet Seaport where we met some friends who asked us to Pull over.....and requested License and Registration !! When you got Dual 50 Calibers pointed at you....you dont ask why But...they were just doing their CODE ORANGE job....and soon we were on our way down by Wall Street and on past Battery Park (south tip of manhatten) and the saddest view of all.....one missing two building I've looked at all my life and are now gone (should be right around where the sailboats' Mast is) Its truely a sight that brings a tear to my eyes and a lump in my throat......but when you turn around you see the MOST BEAUTIFUL Lady in the World..... together with the most beautiful lady in MY World ....and that Gives me Hope for tomorrow,,,,,and a better world
