1965 Buick Riviera, 425 LX block Nailhead with 2x4bbl Carter AFB's, 86k original miles, never repainted, no A/C but nearly every other option including armrest placed in the rear-sofa. Custom interior from factory.
It's one of the few GS optioned cars from factory that were never fitted with the GS emblem. Burgundy Mist Poly.

1964 Buick Sportwagon, now fitted with a 1996 350 LT1 from a Roadmaster and a 4L60E and a 10bolt rearend. Runs like a dream, still being used in the Swedish winter, starts up no matter what. Front and rearend strengthened and lowered 1" with Hotchkiss suspension. 1.2" thick swaybar in the front, 1" thick in the back. The colour is a 1998 BMW colour, unfortunately forgetting the name of it.

1972 Buick GSX, currently with cracked pistons, but in the process of putting together another bottom-end. Will churn out in the mid 550's hopefully. TH400 and 12bolt rearend with C-Eliminator clips. The colour is Chevy's Rallye Green.

I am confused by what you mean about it being a GS optioned car without the emblems? Are you sure it isn't one of the rare non GS's with the dual quads?

I might be wording it wrong entirely, it's 3AM and english is not my native language, but from what I've read, there were around 450 or so Riviera's equipped with the LX 425 with dual carbs, basically the 365bhp 425, that were meant to be GS', but never got the badge fitted.

Why they weren't fitted, it didn't say, if they were custom ordered or something, I have no idea. I have the documents laying around somewhere.

All three look very nice, but I really like the Riv...:TU:

    Thank you.

The Riviera is really something, everything is basically mint condition and running really strong.

EDIT- As of 10 minutes ago, I just gained ownership of a car I helped my friend put together.

1961 Buick Invicta with a 401 Nailhead and turbo.

There were 454 dual four engines installed in standard Rivieras as an A-8 engine option. The A-8 option was also available on the, Wildcat and Electra 225.

The Gran Sport option (A-9) listed included the same 360 hp Super Wildcat dual 4 bbl engine, modified exhaust and transmission, positive traction differential with a 3.42 rear axle, ornamentation and wheel covers.

It sounds like the owner of yours wanted the dual quad 425, but not necessarily the rest of the stuff that came with the Gran Sport option, so he just added the motor option to a standard Riviera. That makes yours more rare than a Gran Sport.

Very nice 61, the turbo puts it over the top! I am partial to 61's as well, and have an Electra coupe, LeSabre coupe and Invicta 4 door.

Not being picky, but in post number 9 of this thread: http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=186646 you said you had repainted that Rivy, with pictures. Just curious.

That seems about right. As I said, posting at 3 AM really didn't do wonders for my posting alas.

Yeah I was going to add that last night but I forgot to upload a current pic. At the time the top pic was taken, it was original. Now it's being refreshed and repainted in the same colour.

It was needed, the Burgundy Mist Poly was fading quite well, unfortunately.
