I was looking at the carcoverkingdom web site thinking about getting a cover for the car at night.
Anyone had any experience with thee guys. They seem very good. Cant quite see how much better a custom fit cover is than a regular fit one for something like the skylark... any tips?

Well, I have purchased three car covers from AJUSA in the last year, including one for my Skylark. You get what you pay for when it comes to covers, believe me. The car covers I got from them were all a perfect fit! A one size fits all cover might be ok if the material is good. Most covers under 100.00 are for indoors only. Expect to pay more for something nice.

since I am in LA i am not really concerned about protecting car from the elements, just dust really...and maybe to protect against someone scraping down the side of the car like they did today. I figure that at least it would be the cloth taking some of their paint rather than my car.. though I guess that is some wishful thinking...

I bought a custom car cover, for my Riviera. It was stored indoors so it was breathable, protected from dust, and didnt want to see if it protected it from scratches. When i custom chose the cover, i had to choose a size, indoor outdoor, and then specific categories like, rain, breathable, dust rodents etc. Im not sure where to help you on the custom or not. Mine had to be custom.

I bought mine from California Car Cover. All my buddies have one from the same place as mine. They seem pretty good and we use them at home and at car shows that we attend. Jim

I have several from Cal covers, and several from the off the shelf groups. There is no comparison, spend the money and buy the good stuff. You will not be sad you did. BTW cal covers makes a softweave that has a felt like inner liner that is a soft as any material I have seen, wont scuff your paint. Think about it, a quality paint job on your car is $3000- $5000.00, isnt it worth it to take care of it!

I use Budge Premier from Walmart, size 4.
    Cost is about $40.

They do make one with a felt liner, called Premier Plus.

Tyvek is waterproof and I usually get about 3-4 years out of them
in the Florida sun. I use them all day, every day.

I used to use the Technalon and a couple others that were
similar and those only lasted about 1 yr before disintegrating
and creating more dust than they prevented from collecting.

Also, the cloth/Technalon would mildew in the summer due to our
    high humidity and daily rains.

    California Cover

Have had a Beverly Hills cover for my 67 for 20 plus years and it is still like new. Bought an expensive stormguard cover from California Covers and HATE it. Fit is farily good for a bulky material, but it rips if you look at it wrong!! I called them and they said I must not be handling it right, I suggested that since my Beverly Hills cover is 20 plus years old, has been washed numerous times, and is in new condition that maybe it's more than me handling the cover wrong. Won't buy from them again!!
