Just wanted to throw out there that I was in Chicago this past weekend and had the opportunity and pleasure to spend a few hours with Dana and Beth. They came by with their son Liam on Saturday morning and took my wife and I out to lunch in Da Wagon. Man, that thing is a beast! I love it! Not your usual family truckster, that's for sure! Sure looked awesome with the track hood still on it. So, we went for local fine cuisine (Superdawg) and hung around shooting the breeze for a while. I did almost get into a fist fight with Beth over who was going to buy lunch. She threatened a scene and shut me down with something like "My town, my Super Dog, my money". Thanks again guys! When you come to Connec-ti-cut it'll be my town and my money! All this and they came bearing gifts too! I was hoping to hook up with them on Sunday for the Chicagoland chapter meeting, but I was "over served" at my wife's class reunion the night before. I wish I coulda met more of you guys. I saw the pics you posted, Dana, looks like some nice cars were there. On second thought, might have been wise not to show anyway, sounds like Bruce mighta tried to Shang hai me to hang lights in his pole barn! Anyway, just want to offer my public thanks. It was the highlight of my weekend! :TU:
I've been to the "Dawg" with Beth & Dana myself, and Ken, you are absolutely right.....they are the greatest! I didn't get my picture taken with them though......sniff, sniff..... :ball:
Ken, they had warned us that you might be coming to the meeting - but alcohol happens! Maybe another time! What school did your wife go to? Just curious about the reunion. Bruce was done hanging lights so that he could come out and play on Sunday. He was actually behaving himself! I should have taken some pictures of that.... Some other time! ShariB
Hey Shari- My wife went to Lane Tech, class of '79. We got in around 4 am and with sleeping in and having a 1:30 flight out, it just wasn't in the cards. The reunion was over in Rosemont. Definitely some other time! I would never have to twist my wife's arm to make a trip back to Chicago! Hope top have another chance to hook up with you guys sooner rather than later. :TU:
Geeee, thanks Ken. We had a good time too :TU: , was great to meet your wife & see you again. I thought you said you were going to be "good" at the reunion, but as Shari says "alcohol happens". And as far as almost a fist fight :spank:  it's only fair we buy for our out-of-town friends a meal, SuperDawg is fun, usually one or 2 old cars will be there. I'm still ticked he made us park on the street  Don't forget to PM me your address, I forgot to give you one of your gifts ou: GS hood going back on Da Wagon in a few min., waiting for Dana to yell. Edit... Hood is on & now it's freakin' raining Dropping it off at the Trans shop this afternoon, having it gone through, then she'll be put away for the winter :ball: Again, it was great to see you :beer Beth
Inquiring minds want to know - why did he make you park on the street? How'd it go at Jimmy's? Safe ride up there? You'll have to tuck her in with a whispered "job well done." ShariB
Well we were going to park in the lot, but it was so busy & since we were not going to use the Car Hop service, he told us to just park it on the street, about 20 feet from a bus stop no less. Well I think he may have heard my little  cause he came back & said "it really dresses up the place", then he parks a mini-van 4 inches away from my back bumper . At least the company & food were good. Jimmy's went just fine, should have her back Weds./Thurs. It rained the whole ride up but what can ya do, at least it was not snow. She gets a tickle on the hood & a "what a good girl" everyday, it was sad to leave her out in Jimmy's lot in the rain but he said he would bring her inside for the night. Beth
