I am pointing out to Chris that he needs to get Dan and or Bob approval on items relating to tech. Not yours, not mine, not anyone elses.

I do not take exception to your "descrepancy" and have not complained about it all the time I have known. Even when you make thinly veiled jabs at "other" W machines.

I do take exception though to made up stories about "loosing a lot of old regulars over similar things" because it's just not true.

You need to stop posting on the subject and painting yourself into a corner.

I sent Dan and e-mail about my car 2 years before I finally showed up, I have a big block hood on a small block Vette, and it has been there since 1970.

I had no problem getting the waiver on that one rule, and I was glad I got it taken care of before showing up.

Dan and Bob are reasonable and helpful. They are looking for cars to attend their event and compete fairly.

Very similar on my manifold, Donny. The manifold is probably more serious, though, after the stink on the Mighty Mouse on his wrong year manifold (mine is a 1970 manifold on a 68) , and the aluminum/cast iron differences that seem to pop up all the time (the 70 manifold is aluminum). It was not put on to try to cheat or save weight. Originally a tribute to someone we lost (does that sound familiar?) but found out later when I tried to change back to cast iron that it was the only one that would fit there.

I won't put Dan and Bob or the FAST crew on the spot here, so the car won't show up with that manifold on it again. Both groups have been super on this when we reviewed it and I don't want to cause any problems.

    No problemo. :TU:

......Just wanted to say I thought the article was great reading and thanks for sharing - I love hearing about original owner cars ....and their stories told by the only guy who's sat in the seat all these years :TU:

Yep, 13 months ago or so when I started this engine rebuild "project" I emailed Dan about what I can and can't do with regards to the engine, rear end and other things on my W-31. I also asked Dan about the rest of the car, ie interior and exterior. I still have those emails. Recently I have read the 2004 rules and some things have changed, so I need to talk with Dan and Bob again to find out if I'm still legit (mainly with regards to exterior and interior) especially since the car now moves under its own power.

BTW, I LOVE your Marauder. I showed pics of it to a friend of mine (who is contemplating building a motor to put in his VERY original 36K mile 68 GTO for P/S racing) and he damn near started foaming at mouth. :TU:

    Hey Casey,

Any idea what engine was in that Firebird? A 350 HO perhaps?

:TU: Thanks. I'm really suprised at how many people like that car. It really makes it worthwhile when you hear good feedback.

BTW, Dave...really cool article on the Ram Rod. It better be at the races.....no retire right after getting magazine print.

Retired? If Dave was like Tom Miller the car would be sold before the magazine even came out!

That's a scary thought. Don't plan to retire it, but it is parked. There are, however, other priorities brewing. :Brow: :Brow:........if my head and stomach ever recover from Stefina garage party last night. Never understand why you feel so bad, after feeling so good the night before! :Do No: :Do No:
