Well, I was bored yesterday so i decided to paint the vinyl top on my Riv. I cleaned and prepped the top and masked everything off and used flat black vinyl paint. Turned out pretty good. I even tested an area with armor all and it shined right up.
I plan on getting a repaint and new top sometime next summer, so i'm trying to decide if i want a stock color top or black. What do you guys think?

I shopped the bumper...i actually like it all smooth like that. I'd just have to figure out how to fill the gas tank.

I kind of the the color combo you already had better. But it does look good.
What color repaint are you planning?

Plan on staying with stock paint color, Burnished Bronze, I believe is the color name.

The original color gives it more of a unique look in a ragtop kind way

With that color combo, I think the tan top looks more classy.

I'm suprised so many people seem to prefer the tan to the black. I personally love the black. I will agree that the tan makes it look more "classy" but I think the black makes it look more like a muscle car, which is what i prefer. The whitewalls defintely go better with a tan top though. It's too bad no one makes a 275 series whitewall.

That's a hard decision! I'm leaning toward the black though.

They both look good but if the interior is a tan, I'd keep the tan top too.

I had a 73 Olds 88 Convertible for 26 years. When I bought it, it had a light tan colored top. Along the way, I changed to dark brown top to match the interior. The darker top was easier to keep looking clean.

  17. Much better with black. Good job!
