Is there an easy way to take apart the buckle on deluxe seat belts for cleaning/restoration? The standard plastic buckles are easy... o No:
Sure, use a small screwdriver to catch a corner where the buckle top cover makes the bend about 3/8-1/2" to the rear edge of the buckle. Get the corner started up and then move the screwdriver to the other corner slowly and it will pop apart.
mike ; take the cover off carefully & remember how the assembly came apart. very easy to re-assemble incorrectly & then the seat belt will not insert nor latch.
Gerry, Really had to work on the first one to get the cover off, but once I figured it out the rest came off fairly easy.. I did learn the hard way that you should wear gloves so that when the screwdriver slips (and it will :ball: ) you don't take a chunk out of your hand  I made sure I remembered how they went together... I took all of them apart and cleaned them along with repainting the push button...:bglasses: :beer
mike: i was never misfortunate enough to gouge my hand when removing the cap. anyhow, easy to do once u do a couple.
