A friend of mine just bought the Titan which is the truck version of the Armada. He loves it. 9000 lb tow rating. 300 horses. I have not heard of the rearend failures but thats always possible with any new model. The motor is tried and true, they have been using the same motor overseas for quite a while. I will say I am a big fan of a suburban. My 1500 97 burb does very well towing my boattail and thats a load. 5000#. I also have owned two Pathfinders and always said if Nissan ever built a full size SUV I would buy it in a heartbeat. Not happened yet. My money is going into a Riv, just like it should.

The info I got on the Titan was form an RV site. Wouldn't think so but it is one of the best places to get information. Many of the folks on there are retired and towing more miles than they drive empty! They also like to get on the PC a lot and share information.

I think what I remember was the Titan didn't have too big of a ring gear size and the ratio was also really bad because of the way the gearing in the tranny was set up? I know the problems have been of the ,"I need a tow truck!" nature.

I'm also not too sure about the newer tow ratings I'm seeing these days! The new 1/2 tons are rated higher than my 97 3/4 ton was and I know how thoese trucks are built! I like to know that my rear axles aren't holding all the weight on two little bearings like it is on a 1/2 ton.

I'm super happy with my new truck. The axle in it is a full floating design with an 11 1/2" ring gear. The axle is rated at 10,600lbs!!

    :blast: PROOF
