Anybody can tell me what this carb came off of? It has big carb bumps and thin ring inside primarys. 17084226 0944HDC. I'm going to try one last time to overhaul one. This carb has electric choke. My main problem has been getting the choke to work right. I think electrics are better.

Unless they changed the numbering system in the late 70-early 80, that is an 84 carb
The first digit "1" indicates 75 or later
The fourth to last digit is the year--4 = 1984
The second to last digit is the division--2 = Chevrolet(?)

Though you are correct in assuming that the electrics are better, they have a tendency to come off very quickly, potentially leading to some premature choke unloading, and hesitations or stalling. These carbs also had different parts necessary for metering, which was somewhat lean. It may work well; try it before making any changes. Let me know... Ray
