You would think it is easy to buy a differential cover gasket for a 1971 GS. Not so. O'Reillys, Auto Zone, Rock Auto all have it listed as a 12-bolt with Fel Pro 55029. Even the box looked too big so I didn't open it. Who knows the correct Fel Pro number? I am the only one to run into this problem? Thanks.
Well I looked up a 1980 Chevy Caprice with 8.5" 10-bolt at Rock Auto and it reads 550281. Looks like the correct part. Not sure why all the parts books are wrong. Back to the store....
