Digital camera operator interface errors?

    Tried to change my avatar with a new pic. Everytime I try this I loose definition on the image. Looking for a nice sharp pic within the size range.
    I'm using a Sony DSC-P50 & Pixresizer.......just can't do it.
    Anybody able to give me a hand here?
