I am considering a front disk brake conversion on my 67 Riviera. Does anyone have experiences with this? Which vendors do you recommend? Does it change the positioning of the wheel? I.e. will the wheel be moved closer towards the street or closer towards the engine compartment.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Taul,

Before making that decision. Look at www.musclecarbrakes.com. They have kits that would make your Riv stop better without going through the expense of the conversion. They have been in the braking business for over 30 years and you could talk to John who is an encyclopedia of knowledge. They don't show your kit online, but they didn't for my 1973 Centurion either.

    Good luck:TU:

Manny, Please do not take this personally, I am really glad you had a good experience with this company.
    But.
My experience was totally negative. This is the short version of my story. The shipping was S L O W. They sent the wrong parts, told me they were right and to put them on anyway, they were definitely wrong and would not fit. I finally had to send them back and eat a 20% restocking fee.
And just to show you I know this wasn't the first time he had problems just such as mine. When I tried to go through Visa to get some help he knew exactly what to tell Visa to prevent me from getting the help. What he did was tell Visa that the parts I was disputing were a "special produced for me" so Visa told me no help was available in such cases. He knew exactly how to put the screws to me.

So I made myself a promise, anytime I see people discussing that company I tell my true story to try to prevent anyone from doing business with them.

Jim Humphrey did a www.scarebird.com conversion on his '68 Riviera. Original spindle location is maintained. You can try contacting him for details.
