Went up to Lebanon Valley on the 2nd, but never had time to write about it....

After the carb rebuild, new timing chain and valve springs, the car ran great but I was having trouble with my 71 Stage 1, so I spent most of my time messing with that and didn't have time to really tune the nailhead. We got about 15 runs on both cars, but I let my brother drive the 65 for most of the day, it was his first time to the track and he was learning the ropes.

The air wasn't great and there was headwind, but I still managed a 15.2 @ 90 with a 2.18 60 ft. So it wasn't really fast but it would still launch when nothing else would. All that time spent with Tom at the Dave Morgan suspension clinic/seminar sponsored by the NE GS/GN club really was paying off. I would suggest it for anyone...

So if nothing else, it bites.

love it Rhett.. When is the next time you are going. I am all done after labor day coaching, and have been putting the miles on the car. only 223 miles since rebuilt. I took some hard runs on it this weekend and had a great a/f ratio with only 4 psi boost it gets up and goes. question thou.. Do I need to put a master kill switch on my car if the battery is in the trunk but a agm battery. was wondering.. I really hate to ad a switch in the back if I don't have to.
let me know and cant wait to go beating on the car with you.

Hey Paul - I'm thinking (maybe!) that me and Ken from Everyday Performance are going to try to hit Buick day on May 24th...I'm hoping I'll have the manifold from Bob by then, and have some other tricks up my sleeve.

I wish I was fast enough to have to worry about kill switches and such, but I would think the answer is in the standard NHRA rulebook. You should be able to find a copy online, or at least the answer from someone here on the board, maybe if you posted in the "race car chassis" (or whatever it's called) section. I woul bet John Csordas or Cellguy would know the answer off the top of their heads.

Tommy - think you can take a Saturday off and jump in?

Walt there is a picture of it on the intake comparison thread. Allready had a big plenum. All i did was work on runners like i did on joes.it seemed to work on joes. I think the q-jet intake has a chance for better top end with bigger plenum. But what do i know...there are a couple companys that will cut your factory intake in half, gut it and weld it back together for 900 dollars. Sorry to hyjack thread

He's been super secretive about it - I think he built me a "cross ram" set up with nitrous ports. I'll let you know if I have to cut a hole in the hood.

We'll see how things work out at the shop Rhett. My primary concern is getting John's truck back to him as it's already been over a year.

Bob snuck in ahead of me - totally ruined the joke...!!!

Tom - Of course John's rig is a priority, just wanted to extend the invitation. You know how to get a hold of me if you need a change of scenery.
