On October 23rd the local Olds Club of Florida is hosting the 26th annual BOPC (Buick, Olds,Pont,Cad) show and swap meet at "Old Town" in Kissimmee. I've attended about 5 years. It is small but growing. (150 + - cars) There are never many Buicks that show up and it would be nice to see more. There are a few guys that come down from Ga. faithfully as well as Richard Lassiter from the GSCA. If anyone lives close and would like to go I can post info. -Mike '72 Stage1 H/T
I've attended that show on and off for about the last 12 years. I had a '70 Olds Cutlass that I won a couple trophies with there. I was thinking of going this year and MAYBE bring my GS. It's really more race than show, but it's always nice to meet new people. Please post the info when you get it. Thanks. Have fun.
I'd love to go! We just got a '74 Buick Century 350, and it's going to get a full paint job done. Interior isn't anything great, but I'd be going for the fun of it, not as a show car (; I live north of Tampa, so it will only be a few hours drive.
My car is in pieces right now, but I'd love to know some Buick people in my area. I live in Thonotosassa just NE of Tampa. Body should be getting paint in teh next month or 2. -Jon
Ok, I will post info when I get home today. Doug, Tampa is 70 miles from Orlando and Kissimmee is 10+- miles south of Orlando so your travel time should be 1.5 hrs. max. if you are near I-4. I will post the address so can do a Map Quest to get exact time. -Mike '72 Stage1 H/T
If the car is looking better and running good still, we'll probably be able to go, driving time isn't a big deal. I drive an hour to and from work 4 days a week.
Ok, Here's the info; Location -- Old Town. It is on Hwy 192 east off I-4 about 1 mile. It is on the right side of the road. It is a tourist attraction so you cannot miss it. If you want to be in the show it is better to pre-register. This show is peer judged and is divided into the usual classes. The gate opens at 8:00 or a little sooner and the awards are given out at 3:00 pm. For registration info call Charlie Amaral at(727)857-1937. He is the Olds. club organizer. We really need more buicks there. Last year a very nice '69 400 Firebird conv. beat out my '70 GS 455 conv.. There are usually some beautiful '50s Buicks and Cads. to see. I will be there with a '72 Stage1 H/T that is Sandalwood w/white vinyl cap and interior this year. -Mike
