Does anyone produce the correct emissions decal for my 71 350-4v?

While my emissions decal is still in good shape. the panel has surface rust. I thought about replacing the decal after cleaning and painting it. SO to the WWW I go. neither OPGi nor Yearone have the correct decal that matches the one that is on my wagon. Yeah, I realize that it is the Sportwagon but nothing on the decal says anything about a wagon. Just a 350 4v so I figure a std 350-4v would work.
So anyone know where I can obtain a proper decal. Or would it be better just finding another top radiator mount?

Your wagon got no special decals for being a wagon other than jack storage.

Tim probably has a late 71 car that came with an electric dash pot etc. Those decals are different.

Years ago I reproduced, as in photocopied an original decal and "repaired it" by hand using a set of jeweler lenses, then had plates made to make the correct decal for my 71 GSX 350 automatic.

I still have a handful of these left, but the problem is I cannot find where I put them.
Maybe some day they will surface.

I've used this vendor before at classicbuicks.co for decals on my 71 skylark. Might try:https://classicbuicks.com/shop/decals-labels-tags/engine-decals-tags/emissions-decals-and-tags/
and see if theirs is OK for use. When I had a project like yours, I just masked off the decal on mine as it was still in pretty good shape then sprayed the panel. Worked very well....good luck!

If/when they do surface, my '71 (350 vert) is a late car (05D body) - I'd like to get one.

Is this the decal you had to "reproduce?" It's from my late (05D) '71 GS. 20211118_042442.jpg

I will do some digging and try to find them again.

I do know my car had 2 decals on the core support cover, the emissions decal and the one for the electronic dash pot.

Dano, does your car have an electronic dash pot and second decal?

No decal for the dashpot present.

    I do carry a 1971 350 -4 Emissions decal. It's Osborn Item # DB0281

All my decals are in one section so pretty easy to locate. . . . > https://www.stage1restoration.com/product-category/decals/

I carry Osborn's Decals and as much as I can from Dr. Decal. (The best Decals out there)
I'm working with him to bring more Decals to the market. His quality is sooo much better!!

    Most are priced at $7

Duane, is the electronic dashpot the idle control solenoid?

    I guess.

They started in late 71 production and the units and brackets were completely different then the 72 units. There were 4 different brackets for the set-up; 350 auto, 350 4-speed, 455 auto, and 455 4-speed.

It was kind of crazy to offer all these different pieces so they made them uniform for 72.

I do believe mine had the electronic dashpot orig. but the car came to me apart. If as Larry asked, the dashpot is the idle control solenoid, it shows that piece on my decal. When was your GSX built?

My old 71 350 GSX was built very very late in the model year. I do not remember the body build date, (maybe June/July) but the car came with some 72 components, namely the 72 style T-3 headlights and the 72 style driver side front inner fender.

I believe my 71 Stage 1 GSX had those engine pieces as well and it was built in April or May of 71. That car also came with the side mount battery.

Late 71 production cars are just wacky. The engineers were working on the emission requirements for the 72 model year cars, and were designing brackets etc. for the top of the motors for these new components.

    Dano,
Where does it show the idle control solenoid on your decal?

On my car it was shown on a separate decal. That decal was strange. When it started to peal off it did it in diagonal strips, so there would be a piece of the decal, then a diagonal piece missing, then another part of the decal, etc. like stripes.
