Well, eBay no longer does PayPal so I guess I'm done with them unless I open a small account just to do eBay.

It's a new payment program. Buyers still can use paypal but sellers funds don't go in there. You have to attach a bank account for funds to be transferred.

It does take longer to get your money. It works but but does take longer. If I sell something after Thurs I won't see the money until the following week.

I probably sold at least 50 items in the new program.

I kind of like the new program. Buyers (and I) still pay for purchases using PayPal except now, eBay transfers the money directly into your bank account instead of you seeing it in your PayPal account. I've just opened up another checking account at B of A and called it "eBay/PayPal account". Since I get PayPal funds for other sales like car parts I now find it easier to keep track of just my eBay sales. And, I can still transfer money both to and from my PayPal account to this new account. Works for me.

The part that chaps my rear is they tried to act like PayPal was a bank for so long and then broke it off with no option.

Chalk it up to the other online sellers eating eBay's lunch and they are trying to recoup by getting the fees instead of PayPal.

Not happy about it either but what ya gonna do? I do around 1000$ a month on Ebay and really liked the money being in paypal to use a wallet/ bank account. PP would send a email letting me know my funds were there on each sale. Now I have to open the bank website with all that triple authentication crap. Send a txt, enter a code, nav the page to find the right account ect. Called Ebay and asked if there was an option to put it back but no dice.

Seems assinine but doable. I keep a Super Secret account that no one knows about just to fund Paypal transactions. That way if I get breeched, it is not my bigger shop and house accounts. I thought it was weird that I got a refund for some unobtanium upholstery stuff from PUI and it went straight to my Super Secret account, not Paypal.

A guy on FB said he didn't get it either. All but said it was fake/spam. As a firewall/network engineer, I am very careful about where and what I click. I logged onto my eBay account without using any link and it hit me with the "must complete" so I couldn't do anything else until I at least updated my account.

I got the notification the LAST DAY I was allowed to take action. Looked like spam, but I just happened to log onto my ebay account and see the message there. What a crock.

I used to do a lot of business on ebay and have been a member there since the late 90s, but with all the changes over the years like no longer allowing USPS money orders, sellers fees include postage , taxes, etc., I no longer sell with them and buy very little.
I now only buy/sell hobby related items through groups like V8 Buick or other hobby related boards. I'd rather take less and make someone a good deal than pay all the fees and deal with the headaches.

My last few orders have been all screwed up with shipping and billing resulting in numerous phone calls trying to get things straightened out.
Never had problems in years past. Wasn't there something about some Chinese company taking over with billing and payments ? Though I read that somewhere not too long ago.

I still buy stuff on ebay but I stopped selling years ago. It is still the best place to find things. Sooner or later, just about everything & anything that I am looking for shows up on ebay. And I have learned, if it is something that I have been searching for years for, bid high! I never regretted paying up for some rare item but I have regretted missing some rare items by not bidding enough!

Still buy there as you can find some stuff there cheaper than Amazon. LED light as an example.

I've been an eBay buyer and seller almost since the beginning. Even with all the changes over the years, some good and some not so good, I still find it fun and profitable to buy and sell on the Bay. In addition to car parts, we sell lots of household goods that we've amassed over our 5o+ years of marriage and have collected thousands of dollars that might otherwise have gone to Goodwill or thrown out. (Means more I can spend on Buick parts) :D
