    Murphy Just Getting Started

I'm setting up 1 of the doors on the vert. It seems to go in too far when it's closed. I adjusted everything I could think of, but it's still goes in @1/4 inch too far. I don't have any rubber seals or door stops on yet. Would that make a difference? I have the bolt it hooks on adjusted as far out as it would come, and that helped. Just wondering if am missing another adjustment.
    Thanks,
    Dan

If you slam the door with no w/sing in there it will go too far as mentioned. Gently close it until you hear the second click and that is where it should sit with w/sing installed (pull on door handle to see where latched position is).

That being said I also had a 71 GS 455 one time (original paint) that the door simply sat in too far even when the striker was adjusted all the way out. Only fix there was to grind the hole open a bit to get the last 3/16" we needed. These were mass produced cars.

But before you do anything crazy like that, make sure the doorlatch assy is ok. The striker rides on a floating steel bracket, make sure that isn't hung up on the retaining bracket, etc.

Good idea to walk away for a day or two and then come back fresh and you might see something you missed before...
