    Hi all,
Well after thinking our project was pretty much finished we have run into a situation with the outside door handles.
They are brand new repops that had to have the push rods altered to match the old ones. Well that is exactly what we did. So far so good, the doors worked perfectly. However, After opening the dorrs a few dozen times we noticed that the outside door handles did open the latch. Upon taking it apart, we noticed that the little push rod, which had to be bent down to properly activate the latch, habd somehow turned over and was now pointing up, missing the latch button completely, and thereby not operating the latch mechanism. Anyone else had this problem? What can we do prevent this from happening again? It has now happened three times, and each time we must remove the door handles, panels, cranks, etc. Help, please. God bless

This is a commonly overlooked problem. Originals were bonded/glued in place.
Remove the rod and get a hot-glue gun. Melt a drop of glue on the end of the rod and immediately place it inside the door handle push button. Problem solved!
