I have a 65 special that needs new door panels. Will the door panels from the 65 skylark work? What about the rear side panels, I don't have rear armrests? I have heard both that they will all fit and that none will fit. Has anybody here done this? Thanks

I have a '65 Special and the guy I bought it from replaced the door panels. I'll pull one off tomorrow and look at the label on the back. I'm sure it'll tell me its for a Skylark but I'll let you know for sure.

OK, I don't believe anyone is making door panels for a Special. As your car appears to be a 2 door hardtop, Legendary does make Skylark door panels that will fit but won't be correct. You will have to find the chrome strips and probably new door handles and pulls if you want Skylark panels. Good luck with your search!

That door panel looks like it would fit. I am not worried about them being "correct", I just want them to fit. The car is a 65 special post coupe. I will post some pics when my wife can show me how to resize the freakin things.

    Tom ,

They will fit. Your car should have had rear arm rests. The photo in the thread for the rear is a convertible car-those are not the same for a post car. I have a set of original 65 Skylark GS panels that I am going to put in my 64 Special. (POST) You can check them out when you make it down here. The panels are not for sale but can be used for a reference. Needless to say they are in the rafters.

Cool sounds good. I definately do not have arm rests in the rear, no holes or anything.

The only difference in the 64&65 4dr skylark/special interior panels is the trim and design. Aside from the station wagon they will all fit. Same goes for the 2dr models except for the rear panels on the 'vert.

make sure about that before you buy.my 69 cali(special/post)has different panels than the skylark/coupe/vert.if you look in the legendary catalog, they dont list the specials & say they dont interchange.i have 3 sets of 68/69skylark panels, they WONT interchange with my post car.if you dont care about being original, everyone makes panels for oldsmobile post cars.i did find one place that does make the special panels however. www.smsautofabrics.com only $695.00 for front & rear panels (4 pieces):eek2: needles to say,i'm thinking cutlass panels for mine:pp
