Dumb question....the windlace on the aft door opening has small flap of vinyl at the bottom. Question is, does this go over the carpet or under the carpet? Carpet is black, windlace is white, either way looks kinda out of place as carpet edge is not finished, and white laying over the black is very obvious. Since it looks bad either way, may as well make it correct!! later Tim
Thats funny, Tim. Last summer I was putting my interior back in and was wondering the same thing! I tucked the flap in, but your right, it doesn't look right either way p
Flap goes under the carpet. If you cut your carpet right, you should have a tight fit between the carpet edge and trim edge.
Seems like it should tuck under the door sill plate, but every model is a little different. By the way does anyone know where you can buy this piece. I need one for my 56. Be nice to just buy one ready made instead of having to custom fab one with 1/2 inch round rubber and covering it with vinyl.
There is no door sill plate in this area. Just the quarter interior panel, this little flap and the carpet. Don't think buying them is the answer either, I had the repros and they sucked. At least if you make your own you can control the quality!! later Tim
Windlace Bought mine from a dealer at Carlisle quite a while back - sold by the foot, in various configurations and colours. Looked absolutely factory, black carpet over black windlace flap, tight to the interior panel and the windlace ended under the sill plate along with the carpet. :TU:
i had that same -dontlookright- thingy with a cutlass ...same thing white panel and black carpet.... I took some black paint and made a fine line on botom of panel, just about 1/8 or less of an inch above carpet.......kind of camouflaged it in pretty good
